Exploring Austria with Gut Oggau | 5.30 - 6.30pm
Cult wine producers, Gut Oggau (the wines with portraits on the label), have been at the forefront of the natural movement since their first vintage in 2007. Farming biodynamically, and paying careful attention to their various vineyard sites, the husband-and-wife team of Stephanie and Eduard Tscheppe-Eselbock create a series of wines with personality, drinkability and cult-like appeal.
From their property near Lake Neusiedl, in Austria’s Burgenland region, their wines comprise a range of native varieties and show a range of styles. This will be a showcase of their latest releases with Besk’s sommelier, Trent Everitt, and their delightfully affable Australian representative Doug Lilburne. Come and try some of these sometimes hard-to-find wines and see what the hype is all about.
Tuesday 17 June
